Table tennis in complete safety

Playing table tennis safely with Cornilleau tables

Table tennis may seem perfectly safe at first glance, but handling an object as large as a table tennis table is not always without risk, especially for children.

It is for them that Cornilleau has developed the safest safety systems on the market to prevent accidents.

The European standard EN 14468 sets out the requirements for a table to be safe in both playing and storage positions, as well as for locking and rolling systems. Cornilleau wanted to go well beyond the requirements of this standard through several innovations. As a result, most Cornilleau tables have 16 locking points instead of the 8 required by the standard. This patented system has many advantages, such as locking the table at 65° when unfolded without holding the handle, to stop it dropping suddenly.

Patented locking and unlocking system

Folding tables are fitted with one of two systems for safely opening, closing, locking and unlocking the table. The first, a decentralized system called Push’n Lock, relies on buttons on the side of the table. With 8 locking points, it meets the safety standard. In the second system, a centralized unlocking handle opens and closes the table and also locks it in its playing position. This patented centralized system, called DSI, has 16 locking points and offers an unprecedented level of safety. For example, if a child opens the table and lets go of the handle, the top locks at 65°, avoiding any risk of it falling back.

Protective corners

Knocking into a corner of the table is never pleasant and can hurt. Protective corners help avoid these mishaps, especially during round-the-table games.

Brakes

A table tennis table must be stable both when you play and when it is stored. A model with brakes has a clear stability advantage over one without. Available on outdoor leisure tables from the 200X to the 700X, as well as on the Instinct, Prestige and Black Code-ID 2, they will keep even your most frantic games safe.
