The Cornilleau workshop is founded
Émile Cornilleau founded a joinery and cabinetmaking workshop in the Oise region to help rebuild homes after the war. Work was plentiful, yet his drive to create soon led him to consider new directions for the business.
The first table tennis tables
The Parisian department store BHV urgently needed 300 tables. Cornilleau took on the challenge, transformed its production and specialised in table tennis. The company industrialised its craft, with Pierre Cornilleau playing a major part in its success.
A partnership with Jacques Secrétin
Cornilleau entered the world of competition and partnered with champion Jacques Secrétin. Their collaboration lasted almost twenty years and helped the brand create increasingly demanding, innovative and high-performance products. Cornilleau continues to work with elite players today.
The first outdoor table tennis table
The first outdoor table with solid laminate panels was a genuine revolution. The durable material brought table tennis into gardens, and the innovations that followed established it as an outdoor activity.
The patented Compact system
The Compact table delivered an unprecedented level of safety while taking up very little room when folded. Tables became easier to fold, move and store. The patented system became a widely adopted benchmark in table tennis.
A complete range of indoor bats
Until then, Cornilleau had specialised in tables. The brand now introduced a complete range of indoor bats, developed for different playing styles and skill levels and filled with new technologies designed for enjoyment.
Tacteo, the first outdoor bat
Made from a composite material, Tacteo became the world’s first outdoor table tennis bat. It withstands impacts and bad weather while retaining excellent playing quality. Years of development and several patents brought durability, performance and colourful design together.
The Park table for public spaces
The Park table can withstand a load of up to 1,200 kg while delivering excellent playing quality. Secure and exceptionally durable, it offered public authorities a true alternative to concrete tables and spread through parks in France and abroad.
Hyphen outdoor billiards
The launch of Hyphen outdoor billiards marked the first step in broadening the Cornilleau range. Three years of research and development were needed to create a billiard table capable of living outdoors while meeting the brand’s standards of play.
The Play-Style universe
After billiards came outdoor table football and a convertible table tennis table. Play-Style created a bridge between furniture and play, gave three classic games a new status and put shared play back at the heart of everyday life.
